Z1R 45 Jacket (Medium Only)

The 2015 group of Z1R leather apparel items is all new and so far, I have not been able to get a published size chart. But I did measure the chest and belly area of this jacket and it measures out about like you’d expect for the men’s alpha sizes listed.

We also put the Medium on Huey and the XL on Dewey and they look good. I developed a chart below to show you the max chest and max belly size for each alpha size offered. But generally speaking, most people can choose the size they normally wear in men’s clothing. Of the jackets I’ve measured, I find this style to be consistent in max chest size with the others, but the max belly is the most generous at only 2” less than the max chest. Those with stout builds will like the overall fit of this one as compared to most other jacket styles.

Prior to 2015 we haven’t carried Z1R leather gear. We looked it over years ago and passed because I thought it was a bit too cheap looking. But times have changed folks, and I’m looking at the line with new appreciation.

This black leather apparel line is now good stuff! The leather is thick but soft and has a nice finish to it. And the styling and fit are right on target for the cruiser rider. Cruiser gear styles have not ever been complicated, and this line isn’t either. The styling varies a bit from one style to the other, but you’ll find the basics here… quality black leather construction, a few creature comforts and of course dual gun pockets!

Take the “View Larger Images” link above to see some good close-ups of the specific features and also those gun pockets. There are actually two gun pockets and each one is lined with a heavy black canvas and also has a couple wide elastic straps to hold the hardware in place. The pockets close with a single snap.

It is subtle, but you’ll find four front zip vents on this style. The two on the chest are made to look like pockets and then there are two bicep vents and two large rear vents. The jacket is black leather and the venting is moderate, so consider this jacket for temps up to “warm”; you’ll find this one to be too hot for really hot weather. And for cooler weather, this jacket comes equipped with a removable full sleeve thermal liner to add a bit of insulation. The lining materials on this jacket are nice too… it’s a mesh material to let that air move through the vents freely, but it should be tough and wear well.

This 45 jacket varies a bit from the others in the group in that it has expansion zippers on either side of the waist. In my sizing comments, I mentioned that the max belly on the jackets was more generous than the others by about 2” and that was with the side zips closed, but with them open, the belly area gets even more generous.

Unlike most sport jackets, and in keeping with the cruiser style, this one does not have armor nor does it have provisions for adding it.
