Sizing Information

We measured a selection of these jeans and found them to be just a touch bigger in the waist than all the other REVIT jeans we sell. Normally, jeans will measure out about 2” larger in the waist than the stated size, but these jeans measure about 3 or 4” larger than the stated size. For example the size 36 jeans measure out to about 40”.

My primary advice would be to order one size smaller than you normally wear in jeans. If you want to measure your waist, take the number you get and subtract 4” and choose that size. For example if you measure out at 40”, you probably wear size 38 jeans, and in this jean, you’ll want to order a size 36.

The inseam lengths measured out about right as compared to the stated size, BUT there are a couple considerations here… first, these jeans come standard with knee armor and the entire jeans are reinforced with a thick layer of an abrasion resistant material. Those two features add a bit of thickness and when you sit, that means the inseam gets a bit shorter than you might expect. Also, there is a reflective strip on the outside seam at the bottom that only shows when the ends are rolled. So considering the the knee armor issue and the reflectivity, I’d recommend you buy one size longer than you normally wear. If between sizes, just choose the longer.

Our Two Cents

To be honest, we did not add the Rockefeller to our store when they were first introduced in 2015 because the price point was kind of in the nose bleed section, but recently we were offered a group of these on closeout and we decided the time was right. The selection is limited so use our sizing advice to figure out your size and grab them. You won’t find a more robust riding jean anywhere!

The denim material used in these jeans is way more than just denim. Its a blend of cotton and Cordura, so it they look and feel like jeans, but they are much more abrasion resistant than regular cotton jeans. The fabric also has a CoolMax component to enhance the breathability. And then there is the FULL “power shield” lining. The entire jean, top to bottom, is lined with REVIT’s PWR shield material (think of brand names Kevlar and Armid), which makes these jeans many times more robust than many other jeans that may only be lined in the seat and/or knees (or not at all). Any abrasion resistant liner material can be scratchy, so the jeans are finished out with a full interior liner make of soft black cotton.

REVIT’s SEESMART™ CE-level 1 knee and hip armor is included with the jeans. This armor is perfect for jeans since it is thin and extremely flexible. You won’t be able to see the armor from the outside and it keeps the jeans comfortable.

Let me tell you folks, these jeans are heavy duty… and because of the multiple layers, I’m recommending you use these in mild to cold weather. Maybe warmish weather too, but they are definitely not hot weather riding pants. But the overall heft will really give you confidence in their protective capabilities.

The other features and the overall fit are all pretty standard… two hand pockets in front, two patch pockets in back with some attractive stitching to add some style. The fly is a zipper with a heavy duty button. There is an “X” stitch to reinforce where a rivet might otherwise be… rivets and motorcycle paint jobs don’t mix so its a nice feature. Fit wise, these jeans are pretty standard as you can see in the pictures… pretty much Levi 501-ish.

If you’ve been wanting a riding jean with textile or leather pant protection capabilities, you’ve now found them… and at a relative bargain price too! :: Paul, 08-31-18

Note: you’ll see there is a black elastic strap at the bottom of the jeans. This is part of being CE certified in Europe. The strap will hold the pant leg down in case of a fall.

REVIT says: The Rockefeller is a true benchmark when it comes to the performance of motorcycle jeans. Tough 12.5oz Cordura® denim lined completely with in-house developed PWR | shield creates an outer shell that is unsurpassed in abrasion resistance, with a Coolmax® element added to ensure moisture gets wicked away. The triple needle seams that hold the jeans together are all made out of PWR | yarn to ensure the right strength. Knee protection is provided by the highly flexible, CE-rated SEESMART™ protectors in the full spec Rockefeller jeans, which are connectable to any riding shoe thanks to the equipped loops. The dark blue Rockefeller comes in short, standard and long versions.
