Sizing Information

I measured a sampling of these pants and found the waist sizes to measure out nearly exactly as stated, so the fit is true. Most people will be able to buy the size they wear in regular jeans and get a good fit with no problem. However some jeans are “vanity sized” so if you suspect the brand you wear is actually larger than stated, you might want to check yourself with a tape to make sure.

Below is the chart Icon provides for the pant’s inseam measurement. I checked with a tape and the chart is dead on.

Waist Size Inseam
28 32
30 32
32 33
34 33
36 33
38 34
40 34
42 34
44 34

Our Two Cents

I’m really liking these new Insulated Denim pants from Icon. They are a big improvement over the last design. The older style were VERY baggy and had a somewhat goofy style, but these new ones are great. The overall style is like a nice looking full cut jean with the standard front and rear pocket arrangements, and in the knee, there is a pocket to hold the D30 armor. The pocket is well hidden and is sort of clever in function too. When you open the zipper you can actually insert the armor into one of two different pockets. And those pockets are positioned a bit differently for height, so therefore you can adjust the height of the armor on the knee very easily. Granted, this will be a one-time thing for you, but still it is clever and easy to use. But the thing that makes these pants really shine is the removable liner. The material reminds me of thick pajama pants… it is soft and slightly fleecy and has a neat blue/white pattern which is sort of cool too. These babies will be a pleasure to pull on! The liner is removable too, so you can either use them or not depending upon the weather. The knee pocket is reinforced with some Aramid material but the one thing I don’t see is reinforcement in the seat. I would have liked to have seen that, but maybe the thickness was an issue considering there is already the denim layer and the liner layer in that area. Anyway, a very nice pair of jeans you’ll enjoy on or off the bike. :: Paul, 10-28-13

Sow. I stocked up on good gear and finally got my bike out of the garage after a long and gruesome New England winter. Guess what: First ride of the season, and after about 80 miles on my way back a car makes a U-turn out of a parking lot in front... (Read more...)
