Our Two Cents

I had a chance to try these Justice Touchscreen gloves with my iPhone today. Overall, it is a handy feature to be able to make your phone work with a pair of gloves, but contain your glee…. because only the most rudimentary moves are possible with the gloves on. Let me explain… it seems that the leather which makes up the palm and the bottom sides of the fingers is “special” so that it will manipulate the screen. So you have to somehow try to contact the screen with THAT PIECE OF LEATHER. The leather that sticks out at the very tip of your finger is where the leather from the areas between your fingers come together with the leather on the back of the hand, and those won’t make the phone go. So if you are only using the leather under the end of your finger, it’s sort of like trying to peck away at the screen with a 1” wide soft leather stylus. You can probably check your mail, unlock the phone and talk, etc, but you probably won’t be texting much (unless you have a voice text feature). Otherwise the gloves are just the same as the standard Justice gloves… Here are some remarks from my previous review: a short cuff leather glove that is a combination of leathers. The overall cut of the glove is “pre-curved” so the leather won’t wad up in your palm when you grab the handlebars. On the back of the hand and fingers, they are using a micro perforated leather from Pittards (an English maker of fine leathers). It also is soft and will allow for some ventilation. Not like a mesh glove mind you, but better than solid leather. Of course a leather glove like this will be better for crash protection than any fabric or mesh glove ever will be. The backs of the fingers and knuckles have some extra padding and molded protectors. Take the “View Larger Images” link above to see some close-up photos. Those are my hands in the pictures and I say “these ARE comfortable!” :: Paul 02-06-12
