FirstGear Master Gloves - 2011

These gloves are consistent with the major brands we carry, so hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help.

If you do a lot of wet weather riding the Master gloves appear to be a very good option. FirstGear has made these gloves with their Hipora waterproof membrane, which seems to do a very good job keeping water out. They claim it is also breathable, but as with any waterproof riding apparel, they’ll get a bit toasty in warmer weather. There isn’t any insulation in these though, so if you absolutely have to have the waterproof feature, these may be a good option for mild to warm weather in the rain. The gauntlet in these gloves is extra long, and there is an elastic draw cord which can be used to create a seal around your jacket sleeves. Pittards leather is used in the palm, which has quite a few good qualities for a wet weather glove. First of all, Pittards leather is treated to resist water absorption. It also has a grid-like pattern which really seems to enhance grip in the wet. Lastly, Pittards leather is extra soft and flexible, while offering great abrasion resistance. The Master gloves also have a silicone imprint of the FirstGear logo on the first two fingers (for extra grip), as well as a face shield wiper built into the left thumb. A Velcro wrist strap keeps the gloves secure on your hands, and there is a plastic clip that can be used to keep the gloves together when they aren’t being worn.
