Sizing Information

These gloves are consistent with the major American based brands we carry such as FirstGear, Tour Master, Joe Rocket, etc, so hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help. If you are sometimes between sizes, then I’d recommend you try the smaller because these gloves felt a tiny bit on the roomy side and the mesh material has some stretch to it.

Just as an FYI, you may have previous experience with European designed brands such as Alpinestars and REV’IT! which run about one half size smaller, size-for-size, than the American brands. It is not a universally true fact, but generally holds for most styles. So if a particular size in either of those brands is roomy on you, then you may be able to go down one full size in this style.

Our Two Cents

This is a special, limited time sale. The Fieldsheer products in our closeout department right now were all part of a new line of gear introduced in 2014. We really like the products (as you can see from my original review below). But about a year ago, these products were discontinued and sold by the Fieldsheer distributor for mass liquidation through limited channels (which didn’t include us). But through unlikely circumstances, some of the inventory has become available again and we are offering it at VERY GOOD prices. When this inventory is sold through, there won’t be any more, so make a choice while you can! :: Paul, 1-30-17

I keep trying to mispronounce the name of this glove, so I looked it up and the word Mistral refers to ” a strong, cold and usually dry regional wind coming from the northwest and known in the northern Mediterranean” (from Wikipedia). What a good name for a hot weather glove! Now if I only spoke French. Anyway, back to the gloves. Well, as you might guess, the Mistral gloves are for hot weather use. A good portion of the glove is airy mesh material and in the wear-prone or crash-prone areas, goat skin is used. There is some moderate crash protection too: on the tops of the knuckles is integral padding and there are hard armor pieces on the backs of three fingers and the side of the thumb. The closure of the glove is a simple Velcro tab at the wrist. In trying these on, I found them to be VERY comfortable. The knuckles and thumb are built with a “hinge” so when you close your hand, the leather bits stick out, and along with the hard armor pieces look like sci-fi gladiator gloves (mostly my imagination I’m sure, but anyway…). Take the “View Larger Images” link above to see what I mean. Overall, I really like these gloves and think they’d be very comfortable in mild to hot weather. And the break-in time is about zero. :: Paul, 03-13-14

PS: Oh, BTW, the touchscreen capability is just “so-so”. You can poke kinda hard and do basic swipes and such, but the location of the conductive material on the finger and thumb don’t lend themselves to pinching or very accurate anything. You can get by, but don’t expect to do a text.
