Our Two Cents

Wow, what a difference one new product cycle makes. I reviewed the “original” Adrenaline glove from Cortech and I think the manufacturer has made a decision to make a serious race product with the Adrenaline II. I’d like to encourage you to view the video above. Unlike most promo videos, this one actually has some good information that is relevant to sport riders and racers. Those guys are making my job a lot easier!. I’m no racer, but in listening to the key feature descriptions and looking at the pair of gloves here on my desk, I’ll concur that this glove is a very nice product. The key things I see in comparing these to others are: 1) the box type stitches in the fingers and the kangaroo palm. This type of construction will give you very good feel and the kangaroo material has become the gold standard for race gloves. 2) the Knox protectors on the palm are designed so that your hand will slide on the pavement if you should be unlucky enough to come in contact with the road. 3) I also like the flex properties of the TPU knuckle protector, making this area of the glove much more comfortable. There is a liberal use of SuperFabric® material in the fingers, thumb and over the wrist bone as well as a Kevlar lining for abrasion resistance. With all these things going for this design, I would recommend them and I think they are a very good value. Oh, BTW, we have a very good set of close-up photos of the glove’s features you can view by clicking the “View Larger Images” link above. Had I seen the video first, I’m not sure we’d have gone to the trouble, but close up photos sometimes give you a better sense for the details than a video. Enjoy! :: Paul, 05-05-12

Cortech seems to have really upped their glove game in the past few years, and these fantastic Adrenaline gloves are a perfect example! When I first tried them on, they seemed to be a little too snug for a size XL, but after several rides, they have loosened up nicely and are now what I am accustomed to in a size XL glove. I also had some initial concerns that they might be a little too warm when it is extremely hot out - possibly the kevlar liner or the fact that the top of the glove has a double layer of leather contributed to this concern.
