Sizing Information

The overall fit/size of this new style seems “true” to their published size chart (see below), so if you are comfortable with a certain size from previous boots, then choose the same size. I’d consider the width of the men’s sizes to be normal to slightly wide (D or E).

Our Two Cents

The Alpinestars Roam would be well suited to commuting, touring, or just cruising the strip. The all black boot is simple in style, with a synthetic leather upper and rubber sole. The synthetic leather looks like the real thing, and the boots are nice and flexible. Flexibility and comfort are probably the two nicest things about these boots. Right out of the box they are very comfortable to walk in, which would make these a very good option for touring. The Roam boots feature Alpinestars’ Drystar® waterproof lining. This should do a good job keeping your feet dry in the rain, but does not extend up the full length of the boot. This typically is not an issue since pants cover that area anyway, but in the interest of full disclosure, the top 4 inches of these boots do not have the waterproof lining. The Roam boots use an unconventional closure system also which utilizes 2 Velcro belts and a Velcro upper. They are quick and easy to get on and off and there is no zipper to break, but Velcro can also get dirty and wear out over time. We have taken quite a few pictures of the Roam boot here in our studio, so be sure to click the “View Larger Images” link above to check them out.
