Please see our TCX Sizing Information page for help in choosing a size. I tried on the 46/12 in this shoe (which is my street shoe size) and the fit was perfect. I’d advise you pick the size you normally wear in street shoes.
Our Two Cents
TCX calls this model the “X-Street Waterproof Boot”. I think the boots are super cool looking and they are sturdy feeling and comfortable, but “waterproof boot” is a bit of a stretch. I’d characterize them more like a “reinforced leather sneaker”. The leather used is thick like other motorcycle boots and there are small round impact protectors on either side of the ankle bone, but that is about where it ends. You can see the shoes are lace-up, but there are no provisions for wrangling in those laces so there is a possibility of entanglement. Also, there is no substantial reinforcement in the toe box or heel although there does seem to be some reinforcement in the sole (under where you bear weight on the pegs). Waterproof? Hmmmm… the tongue of the boot attaches to the upper about half way down the laces, so any water higher than 3” will enter, so while they’d be good for successfully navigating a shallow puddle, I wouldn’t expect miracles on a motorcycle in the rain. Don’t get me wrong… I don’t mean to trash this shoe, but I just want you to know what it is and what it isn’t. We sell a lot of sport-type shoes like this and they are completely appropriate for a lot of things. And, I’d say these shoes are even more robust than a lot of others, but let’s call it what it is, shall we?. Paul :: 03-26.12
