Sizing Information

Please see our TCX Sizing Information page for help in choosing a size. This boot fits me like a D, or maybe even an E width, and like all other TCX boots, the sizing feels correct.

Our Two Cents

The TCX X-Miles boot offers a lower top version of their protective touring/sport boots. These boots have a great “technical” look and have some interesting styling that is also protective. Examples: the molded area over the toe (shift protector), is molded all the way down the side of the foot and integrates with the sole. And there is a cool looking molded plastic protector around your heel. It looks like vents molded into it (styling only though) and looks cool too. A lot of people like a shorter boot like this, but so many are little more than dressed up sneakers. But these don’t feel that way… they are well made and substantial. The foot area is leather which will break in nicely (they’re a bit stiff as I sit here and type with the boots on) like only leather will. There is a Velcro closure on the side of the boot that allows for some adjustability. They aren’t quite as quick to put on as a side-zip design but the adjustability offered with the Velcro closure is a nice tradeoff to a zipper. Like any good touring boot, the soles have good stiffness and are reinforced through the shank so they don’t break down by continuously being on the pegs. There are protectors built into the boots in the shin area (not often seen on a shorter style), both sides of the ankles, in the toe area and heel area (as described above). As you can see in the features list, these boots have a built in waterproof lining that will keep your feet dry and allow them to breathe. Take a look at all the photos we took of these features by clicking the View Larger Images link above. Overall, I think this boot is great and offers a lot of protection for a relatively inexpensive price. :: Paul, 12-01-12
