Sizing Information

We find TCX boots to be very consistent in fit from one model to the next. We checked this boot and it too is consistent with other models. To choose a size, please click here to see the TCX size chart. The general width of TCX is “medium” or D to E. To compare to other brands you may have experience with, I’d say the overall fit is somewhere between a Sidi boot which is generally a bit more narrow and an Alpinestars boot which has a more generous width.

Our Two Cents

This new TCX Hub boot will be a great choice for almost any kind of rider. The boot has all the basic equipment you’d want to have in a protective street boot package: sufficient height to give plenty of coverage over the ankle and on the lower shin, stiffeners in the heel and the toe to hold up to shifting and/or impacts; specific armor protection in the ankles; a reinforced sole, but one that is low profile enough to work with street/sport shifter setups.

The styling of the boot is a bit more snazzy than the more basic designs with the inside zip closure. This one has Velcro closures on the outside of the boot which gives the boots a bit of decoration. They are practical too since you can position the Velcro tabs to make them looser or tighter to suit. The boots are waterproof with an internal liner and a gaiter across the side opening.

One small upgrade for this boot which I haven’t seen on prior TCX boots…. the wear pad over the toe is integrated into the sole. Functionally I’m not sure that’s any better or worse than the old setup where it was simply stitched on the toe, but it looks more modern and “engineered” to me.

The overall height of these boots is not quite as tall as the “standard” street boot, but not a hiker either… “just right” some would say. Have a look at our photo gallery for some good close up pics which show exact heights and the other details I’ve mentioned. :: Paul, 10-27-16
