Sizing Information

We find TCX boots to be very consistent in fit from one model to the next. We checked this boot and it too is consistent with other models. To choose a size, please click here to see the TCX size chart. The general width of TCX is “medium” or D to E. To compare to other brands you may have experience with, I’d say the overall fit is somewhere between a Sidi boot which is generally a bit more narrow and an Alpinestars boot which has a more generous width.

Our Two Cents

These Airtech Evo Gore-Tex boots are an “evolution” of the previous model of the same name we’ve carried for years. Those sold out and are no longer available, but these new boots share the same unique construction as the previous ones. The Airtech is a perfect boot for the warm weather/all weather rider. A large portion of this boot is a tight weave “Air Tech” fiber that allows air to pass through freely. The boot has a Gore-Tex liner which keeps water out but allows for foot moisture to escape. Just like I did with the previous model, I had to give this new version the lip lock test… put my lips on them and blow! Sure enough, I could feel my breath on the inside! I didn’t dunk them in water, but being a Gore-Tex product, the overwhelming likelihood is that they will indeed be waterproof as advertised. Amazing!

The overall style of this boot is ideal for street riders and commuters. This boot also offers a comfortable natural feel when off the bike. Just glancing, it looks like nearly the entire upper is the mesh fabric, but the large panel covering the main zipper and the material over the shin armor is actually a textured synthetic leather. It has sort of a “grip” to it, sort of like what you see with off road boots and the use of suede (or similar). This feature will be welcome by adventure riders for grip against the motorcycle’s body parts.

Armor is included in the shin and on either side of the ankle; in addition the toe and heel areas are well reinforced. The soles have very good stiffness as well. All the protective features are similar to those you’d find on other street/sport boots. The overwhelming unique property of being breathable and yet waterproof is the big draw here, and is one that summertime touring and adventures riders will really enjoy. Based on our history with the similar predecessor, I can recommend these boots highly. :: Paul, 02-08-16
