Sizing Information

A few of us tried on these boots in the office and thought they ran a bit small. Maybe not a full size small, but at least a half size small. As you can imagine, size recommendations/evaluations on boots are subjective and we do the best we can for you. My overall recommendation would be to buy the size you normally wear, but if you are EVER between sizes, then choose larger.

Our Two Cents

These Joe Rocket Ballistic Touring boots are an “entry level” street boot. There are some decent protection features built into the boot, such as armor in the shin and on either side of the ankle bones, and the toe box is stiffened somewhat (but the heel area is not). The soles have a shank in them to add rigidity from the ball of the foot back to the heel, which is important in any boot bearing weight in the mid-foot such as standing on pegs. What makes these boots “entry level” in my view is the quality of materials. They aren’t as good as boots costing more. I’d recommend a boot like this for those who need an “occasional use” street boot and for those on a budget. Oh, and they have a toe slider, but PLEASE don’t get the idea you should be road racing in these boots! :: Paul, 06-24-13
