Sizing Information

These boots are sold in regular shoe sizes. We tried on a few pairs to judge the fit and found them to run about right with their stated size. The width is “medium” or “D” width. Choose the size you normally wear in street shoes; perhaps one half size smaller than you wear in Nike because they are known to run a bit small.

Our Two Cents

The Reign Waterproof boots will be a hit for those who want a waterproof boot with substantial protection, but NOT with a low profile racing sole. Who would that be? Just about any street rider that is concerned about crash protection…. especially those who encounter wet weather. I’m stressing the protection aspect because these boots offer more protection than most other ordinary touring boots we sell. The boots have hard plastic protectors on the inside and outside of the ankle and on the shin. There is also a thick molded rubber pad where the shifter hits on the toe. The sole is thicker and wide like a good street shoe, but it is quite stiff which is another virtue of a protective boot. Comfort? Well, the protection of this boot has a tradeoff. The boots are pre-flexed forward so they will feel comfortable on a bike (like many race oriented boots), and the interior is very plushy so I think the comfort will be there for riders. Would I want to bop around a mall in them? No, I don’t think they’d be great for that. The looks of the boot are sharp and will blend in with any type of riding gear. The exterior is a combination of leather and textile. The combination of these materials cuts down on the weight just a bit, so it is not overly heavy. The waterproof capability comes from the waterproof/breathable membrane that is situated between the outer materials and the inner liner. You won’t know it’s there, it will keep water out of the boot, and it will allow moisture to escape so they are not clammy. Overall, I think these boots are winners… especially with the affordable price tag. Take the “View Larger Images” link above to see some good close-up pictures. :: Paul, 11-08-11

I got the AGV Monza Gloves (LH)(Large) on sale. They had a minor stitching flaw which is probably why they were on sale. My gain. (Read more...)
