Sizing Information

The overall fit/size of this new style seems true to their published size chart (see below), so if you are comfortable with a certain size from previous boots, then choose the same size. I’d consider the width of the men’s sizes to be normal to slightly wide (D or E).

Our Two Cents

Alpinestars now offers the same great features of the original S-MX 4 boot in a waterproof model. The S-MX 4 waterproof boot is moderate in style, function and price. It’s aimed at the sport/street rider who may also occasionally do amateur track events (or not). The styling of the boot is fairly sedate, so these boots fit in fine for street use, even for use under jeans. But the overall style would be compatible for use with leathers tucked in as well. The boots have some pretty substantial armor in the right places, such as calf, ankle area, heel cup, toe box… even the back of the calf. The materials used in making the boot are thick and substantial, and now include a breathable waterproof membrane. For comfort the boots have several intake vents on the boot to move some air through (I wouldn’t expect too much out of these vents, but they may help a little).
