Sizing Information

TCX boots have always had a very consistent fit from one style to the next over the years, so if you have fit experience in this brand, you can choose the same size in a new boot. And we find the size length to be correct when using their conversion chart. I’d estimate the width to be “medium” or “D” width, perhaps just a bit more wide than Sidi which I’ve always thought was a C or D width. Please see our TCX Sizing Information page for a conversion from European to US size.

Our Two Cents

These new X-Square Sport boots are a more “low profile” and/or European styled boot than their other offerings. The black material used along with the suede on the upper has sort of an interesting texture which feels somewhat “rubberized”, sort of like a Rubatone finish helmet if you have ever seen one. The boots are a typical lace-closure, short hiking boot style. I’ve called out other similar looking boots that were not much more than glorified sneakers (such as Alpinestars Fastlane shoes), for not having sufficient protection for motorcycling. I’d put these boots somewhere in the middle between plain sneakers and a pretty heavy duty boot with protection. They do have ankle bone armor pieces built in and I’ll give them points for the recessed laces and the Velcro-close strap over the top of the laces, which will help you from getting these tangled on something on the bike, but the reinforcements in the toe box and heel area are not so robust. Also, with a very thin sole like this, comfort for walking and long term wear might be in question. But I think I’m probably missing the point here… these boots are highly styled and a lot of people will really like how they look. The overall quality seems to be there too… as I have come to expect from TCX. Oh, and in case you thought otherwise, the feature TCX calls “PU toe sliders” are really just stylish molded rubber overlays for the toe area… they wouldn’t function very well or long passing over pavement :) :: Paul, 02-12-14

After reading reviews, I decided on the TCX X-Square Sport. They are every bit as good as the reviews. Although protection is my priority, I didn't want a bulky "ski boot". These X-Square boots are very comfortable, look great, light, and the crit... (Read more...)

Was looking all around for a good pair of boots for me to use for daily riding. Good protection and they don't look horribly out of place with worn with jeans or just riding pants. Really happy with the purchase. Reflectors are a nice touch too.
