Sizing Information

Choose a size based upon your chest measurement. For those in the smaller size ranges, the size chosen will be the same size as in other well known European sized jackets such as Alpinestars, but in the larger size ranges, you’ll be choosing one size larger than you might normally choose.

We’ve checked the chest and belly on each size jacket and we’ve concluded the chart from REVIT is a good approximation of how they fit. We’ve added a column to their chest estimate to show the max belly as well. The overall fit of this jacket is less race oriented than other jackets with similar styling, so they’ll fit fine on those with average builds, or even those with a bit of a belly. There are waist adjusters so those with a more trim waist can snug the waist area down quite a bit if necessary.

Jacket Size Max Chest Our Estimate

Our Two Cents

This Galactic jacket is a closeout group we bought because we thought it was such a great deal. To be honest, we passed on carrying this style when first introduced, so you won’t see any reviews from customers from months/years past, but if you search online you’ll see many very favorable reviews from buyers (um, cough… Revzilla).

This is a VERY heavy duty leather/mesh style. And while it is as rugged and protective as any sport/race jacket we sell, you’ll find the fit to be more relaxed and usable by everyday riders (see discussion above). Being a mix of leather and mesh, the jacket will work fine for three seasons at least which makes this model very versatile. Its climate control is much like the popular Ignition 2 jacket, but with just a bit more sporty styling.

The jacket comes with a removable waterproof/windproof full sleeve liner. The liner will help block wind so you can use it in cooler weather to extend the comfort range down. Add a warmth layer of your own under that liner for cold weather. The liner is waterproof of course, but since the jacket is part leather, I wouldn’t advise using it a lot in wet weather, but I’m told the leather is “treated” to resist water, so that should make it OK for occasional wet weather use.

Of course you get CE armor in the shoulders and elbows. There is a pocket for the addition of optional CE-certified back protection (see below). The jacket can be paired with REV’IT pants too. There is a short rear zipper or a long zipper for attachment; see the link for the Gear 2 pants below. Happy savings! But only until this group sells out. :: Paul, 01-04-17

Add a Back Protector: This jacket is made with a pocket to accept a Seesoft CE Level 2 Back Protector Insert type RV (RV refers to the shape). For sizes 46 or 48, choose size 3; for 50 thru 54, choose size 4 and for sizes 56 and 58 choose size 5.

This is a great jacket for warm weather riding. I have yet to test the waterproofing, because it is still very cold here. The liner does help a bit in terms of keeping the heat in. (Read more...)
