Sizing Information
The table below shows the waist size range for each size offered in this short. As of this writing (Spring of 2011), Icon’s website and literature showed a very different table. But we have verified that the table below matches what is labelled in the shorts and the fit seems consistent.
Waist Size | Stryker Short Size |
30-32” | Small |
32-34” | Medium |
34-36” | Large |
36-38” | XL |
38-40” | XXL |
There is quite a bit of stretch in the waistband and the shorts themselves are made of a stretchy material very much like bicycle shorts (minus the crotch pad).

Our Two Cents
The Field Armor Stryker Shorts from Icon combine the benefits of compression shorts and armor. The shorts have pockets on each hip to hold armor. Icon says the armor is an energy dispersing type that instantly becomes more stiff and rigid when impacted and therefore spreads out an impact to a larger area (further explained in the video). Not a new concept (FirstGear has offered a similar foam armor for years), but certainly a great idea for motorcycle protection. Take the “View Larger Pictures” link above to see some larger pictures.
