FirstGear has been a manufacturer of high quality motorcycle apparel for many years. New for 2007 from FirstGear is their Silverstone Luggage line up which has a really cool look featuring Two-Tone fabric and Carbon Fiber look panels. The Silverstone Saddlebags have a PVC coating with UV protection in the material, this will help slow down fading and deterioration after prolonged exposure to the sun. These saddlebags feature adjustable Velcro cross straps making them virtually a universal fit as well as allowing you to adjust the height at which the saddlebags sit when mounted, exterior side pockets on each saddlebag, Two exterior compression straps with quick release buckles on each saddlebag for securing your load (this is most helpful when using the saddlebags in the expanded mode), the ability to expand adding another 3-1/2 inches in width to each saddlebag, internal compression straps with quick release buckles inside each saddlebag for securing your belongings, sidewalls and base reinforced to maintain saddlebag shape even when empty, bungee cords included for mounting, non abrasive / non slip material on inner sidewalls to protect your motorcycles finish, and a heat resistant base to protect against “momentary” contact with exhaust, which should be avoided at all times. In addition to that there should be a minimum of Two inches of distance between your saddlebags and exhaust once they are mounted. This is the standard distance required to prevent damage to any saddlebag you may purchase.
